Default Adding driver backrest to a mustang seat.

...Is it possible?
I've purchased a 2015 FLHTK and it has the mustang Low Down solo seat.
https://www.mustangseats.com/Product...ring-2009-2018

I'd like to add a driver backrest without having to purchase an entirely new seat. Are there any on the market that can be added and dont look terrible? Or is there any other way to go about this?
Thanks

So it's the model that doesn't have the reciver (small flap held down by velcro) in the rear of seat? I know they used to include this feature in most of their seats. All mine have it but they made that an option when they changed there 2 up seats to work with the Harley model driver backrests. If you do have the seat without the slot I don't know what to tell you other then to contact them directly and see what they can do for you if anything. They may switch out the pan for a fee that would allow you to use there backrest.

Yep that's what I thought. Will call them and see what they can do.

Thanks!

My Wide Touring doesn't have that notch or flap and Mustang says I can't add one. Wonder if i could slip an OEM backrest between it and the rear pillion.

I'm surprised there's no "bolt on" option that adapts to the bolts that hold the seat on.

That would be ideal.

Did you ever find a solution?

I didn't. I've looked on these groups and Facebook groups for people selling the Mustang seat (which I like) with a back rest. Haven't pulled the trigger on that yet. And I haven't tried those CVO backrests. They say for 2012 and up, and mine's a 2007.

Take a look at Grasshopper backrests. From what I understand they mount behind the seat.
