2016 road glide rough idle
the 2016 RGS FLTRXS was rolling very smooth until all of a sudden a rough idle emerged out of nowhere.
it has 17k miles.all stock with SE slipons changed the spark plugs no luck, changed plug wires and still no luck, add some fuel injectors cleaner and octane booster and still no luck, checked the wiring on TB and still no luck. need your help pls |
Dude, this is the 3rd thread you've started. Have patience and someone will be along shortly to help you out. My first thought is bad fuel or EITMS is active.

Try cleaning the IAC with some TB cleaner. Worked for me.

EITMS if turned on will kick in on your bike if ambient temp is over 80° when you come to idle and stopped. On initial start up if ambient temp is over 80° after 4 minutes of idle. If engine temp is over 180° ? (Not sure if I have that engine temp correct) when you come to a stop. These are the three ways EITMS will activate when turned on. In the mean time check codes.........bike off, don’t start, press and hold trip button while turning ignition to on, continue hold trip until diag shows up on odometer, then scroll trough systems by pressing trip button. All should end with N if you have a Y (yes) press and hold a short time until it gives you the code. |
Check to see if the purge tube cap (90383-98) has come off ( top of the throttle body, seen here, item 11: https://shop.outpostalaska.com/OEMpa...ON_MODULE,_FUE

Checked the front spark plug wire in the gas tank area? Some have had rub through areas on that wire from rubbing against the tank.
|
If the EITMS is enabled it will only idle on the front cylinder at temps over 80F so you might want to check that also.
|
ok changed the spark plugs, wires, fuel filter and still the shark has rough idle and i checked the fuel lines in gas tank .no leak.checked for codes have some speakers codes not related to my issue here.
|
As rwen mentioned, you may have accidentally enabled EITMS.
