Default clutch cable replacement on FLHRC.

Has anyone here done this yet, and if so, did you have to pull part of your header pipe away to get at the 6 screws at the tranny end? Or where you able to get those six screws out without loosening any of the exhaust?

Don't know what year you got (I'm on a mobile phone ).I have a 13 flhx and I was able to r&r the clutch cable without removing head pipe.I did have to remove the heat shields. A little recommendation. ..get a barnett HE cable...I will always use them from now on...

I removed the slipon and loosen the head pipes enough to get my allen socket and ratchet on the bottom bolts. I have read of guys were able to get to the bottom bolts using a ball end allen wrench with out removing the head pipe.

rk classic.

If you have a pneumatic clutch, then you'll have to remove the header pipes. Just makes it far easier. If you are running a 'cable', then you can do it without removing the pipes. You'll need some modified tools and ball end extended allen sockets so that you can torque everything.

Default Thanks for the tips

I see the new bikes have only 4 bolts in the clutch actuator cover instead of the 6 mine has. I'm assuming that's because of the hydraulic clutch. I can see using a torque wrench for these bolts will be impossible (unless I pull the header away)
