what is the cost of just doing rings? I would want to match cylinders to piston for optimum compression. are you getting blue smoke when running or at initial start up? I would talk to dyno steve and see what he recommends. since he has worked on it before. Provided you were satisfied with said work.

I'm curious what your Indy's say, since this is starting from chasing an oil leak/1-2 qt every 5K. Were your breather tubes re routed or are they still going into the throttle body? How does the air cleaner and throttle body look? Any excessive oil?
I haven't noticed and oily exhaust at all. The right pipe has a bit more black chud on it but it doesn't seem excessive.

I don't know how the breather tubes are routed however there is typically few drips of oil after a service. All of the info was relayed to me by their scheduler which is why I didn't have any work beyond the test run, I asked if they could do the port/polish on the heads if I did do the work and they farm that out. That work goes to Cyclpath who is the other indy I have worked with. I'll be calling both Cyclpath and Dyno Steve for input.

THx all for your insight on this!

Ride safe.

Your heads need a refresh for sure, the tech report states exhaust and intake leaking.
Bore the cylinders to 103 and install 10-1 pistons.
The 259 cam was never a good idea with stock compression.

The stock 09 FLHP is 103.

The dealer has admitted his lack of knowlwdge already in the results he gave you.
Your engine is being condemned by someone that does not know how to do a leak dwn teste or does not own the tool to do it??
There are so many reasons you can get a low crank number with a rollover CR test, I can't list them all.
Tell him you want a leak dwn by someone that KNOWS how to do it!

It's a fool's folly to take the heads/jugs off and only replace the rings at 60K miles. If someone you're paying suggested doing that, stop paying them.

Most likely.
We have to remember,- the dealers are NOT selling bikes-so what will they do to compensate?

Anything else?

At that mile age it wouldn't be out of the question for rings to be either stuck in the grooves or worn. It will have to be disassembled to find out. Of course the cylinders and pistons should be measured for clearance and out of round. That year bike has plated cylinders, they do not get bored like the old iron liners. Either replace them or get them replated to spec.

If you're going that far at least have the valves and seats resurfaced, no need to port and polish etc unless you just have to throw money at it or are unhappy with the current performance.

Might want to check your air filter too. Some of the free flow air filters will allow debris into the motor which in turn will prematurely wear the cylinders.

SE259s in a stock 103 will crank 155-170, depending on altitude and wear.
Not to be insulting, but did they de-activate the ACRs and hold the TB open during testing?

If you need rings go with a 103. You got the Cam already... As far as other work the guru’s in here are giving pretty good advice.
