No radio fairing, not what I wanted

It's apparent not many of the posters realize the Standard was a regular Electra Glide for years, ending with the 2010. A Standard had no radio, but an open slot/box, and had speaker grills but no speakers. However the wiring is all there to mount speakers and a stereo if you wish. I went the Biketronics route years ago but have replaced it with an Aquatics AV and 6.5" speakers with the adapters. Now I have a waterproof system where I did not before. The later model bikes probably require a totally different stereo with touchscreen but its set up to do that, if you wish.
No idea why they went with a solo seat and no pegs. I can see using the bullet turn signals as they are trying to make it look like the Street Glide, which is the most popular bike right now. If I was in the market for a bike again (am not and will not be) I would strongly consider this bike. I hear the price is a bit below $19,000. If they had used all chrome covers for the engine/transmission/primary it would be an awesome bike. Polished covers just don't do it for me anymore.

They had one of these at my local dealer. It wasnt on the floor yet, they were still assembling it. But, I had the opportunity to go check it out, up close and personal.
I dont care for all the electrical stuff on bikes, so this appeals to me.
I do agree that its kind of odd to have the hole, with nothing in it. However, the angle is pretty steep in it, so things in there are secure. One thing that did occur to me though, is it has the potential to fill with water if not covered, in the rain. Not so much while riding, but certainly when parked. No drain holes at all. Which seems bad to me. I am sure that, by the time I am ready to purchase a new bike (this one is on my short list, along with the Heritage), someone would have come up with some sort of way to close it. Hell, maybe even HD themselves can sell blanks with a hinge and magnetic catch, for like $100

The company sure is proud of its new fairing with no radio. I must admit that is what I asked for.
However...
I wanted a clean looking fairing, and I have no use for a radio.
What they offer is a fairing that looks like someone stole the stereo system. Ugly in my book.
Nice try, Harley. But no stereo (for me) does not mean a hole where you can put a stereo.
Rant over. I realize I am in a minority. My last five or six bikes have had a stereo, just did not use it.
Ride on.
