Need help finding the right docking kit
 

Ok guys I have been hunting for backrest docking hardware I have a 2008 Street Glide and I am being told I need different docking kits by multiple people. HDs kit seems like placement would be wrong do to location cam some one please show me the kit I need and pix to understand how it works

Do you have the 4 point mounting kit on the bike already? Front sissy bar notch attaches to the top of the shock, and then clips into the cam in the back. That’s on the ‘13. May be different on the ‘08.

also, just go to Harley-Davidson.com and search for your model. Sorry dude but this stuff is all over the place you just need to look.

You have the old frame. You definitely need to look for kits that fit 2008 and earlier. 2009 up will not work.

Depends on what you’re installing. If you’re installing a tour pak, you need 53804-06. If you’re installing a sissy bar, you need 53803-06. If you will be using both a tour pak and a sissy bar when the pak is off, you need both.

Thats the problem your link gives 2 kit options yes I have done my research but both are recommended for my year the triangle kit to looks to back set everything to far.

So just a backrest I need the black kit that bolt near shock tower and then above rear back mount?

HD shows both kits and they gave me the tour pack mount number as the one I need.

So so even a real person at HD isn’t always right. Thanks Dawg for clearing it up!
