Exhaust questions
My 2010 Street Glide came with a 2-2 Thunderheader exhausts. It doesn’t look like they make this model anymore.
I really like the sound but it really is stupid loud. I like a bit of grunt over stock but really could love with way quieter than this. Also I like my neighbors and leave at 0500 for work, so trying to be a bit nicer.
is it possible to put a quieter slip-on muffler to the TH header system? I don’t want to have to deal with the O2 sensors etc to switch it out.
if so - any recommendations for some quiet slip-ons? Preferably in black and with somewhat good performance still.

Exhaust has 2 aspects - Tone and volume. For me, the best for this is the V&H Monster ovals. Theres 2 aspects to be concerned with when mixing headers and mufflers - a. do the mufflers fit the head pipes and will the mounting tabs line up. My bike, i'd get a fresh system and sell the old..

I agree with you about "stupid loud".
I don't want my bike to sound like a sewing machine, but on the other hand, a nice V-Twin Harley Rumble is mostly appreciated by everyone.
You may want to sell the thunderheaders complete and get a new system.
Go to some bike shows, rallys, poker runs etc and check out the other motors. See what they are running that sounds good. Take it from there.

Thanks for the replies - kind of confirmed what I was thinking. I’ll probably look into a 2-1 system. Any ideas on systems that are at the quieter end of the spectrum?
I’d like to hear more systems in person but pretty hard this time of year in the PNW. I’d like to figure something out before my long trip in May.

I just went to my dealer and walked around their bikes to see what they had on... then asked who's bike it was, and they were happy to start them up and let me listen to them. You may even see their used bikes... they'll crank them up for you too.
