As mentioned… for me it’s about this \/. I edited the pic just because I didn’t ask permission to post the pic. But this bike made a huge impression on me as a kid. The fellow riding it was my best friends dad.. sorta a second dad to me in ways. Super cool guy. The fishtails and caddy lights are forever burned into my childhood.
Although in this pic, the fins are either turned sideways or those are side turned tails at that time.

Those look like stock mufflers from I think 1966 to definitely 1969. Do a Google search, not what you are looking for but very sexy mufflers for factory. They are very cool looking in person with the side outlet. I am guessing that bike is a 1968 with the left side front brake, carry on.

Yep 68. It’s still in the family and sadly owned by someone who does not ride and could care less. I’ve gently reached out to my friend, the son to see if it could be bought.. but no go. Originally it was inherited by the son n law who treasured it. Who I rode with a few times along with the son. When the son n law passed it went to his son who doesn’t ride.

When I was growing up the 68 was ridden to my parents place from time to time. I remember the wife, son and dad riding it to our place and dropping the son off to spend the night as a kid. We use to sneak into their garage when I’d sleep over there.. sit on it, get in the vette or T-bird.. good childhood memories. The 49 and old Indians use to just sit under tarps in another garage, .. the Electra glide.. It was male candy land.

That 68 has a lot of memories for me. At some point it got fishtails and bullet lights.. I actually don’t remember the pipes from that pic. I was around that bike from crib to early 20’s. I miss my friends dad. He was a great guy.

They are cool, but I really want it the way I remember the look with the fishtails.
