Wrong the max pressure is not the running pressure.
36/40 for his 2001 is correct should should be on frame sticker also.

I know tires have a cold max PSI. Never seen a minimum PSI rating.

I dare not make assumptions about much of anything these days. Someone at 10,000 feet only has a 10.2 Lb differential - Gotta be careful with things like that or they'll gain over 4 Lb coming back down to earth.

i used to check mine when the ride got squirrelly but these days my watch vibrates when FOBO is trying to tell me something.

Right, and I haven't seen a tire yet that listed the minimum operating pressure.

Think about that again, the tire will seem to lose 4 pounds in the descent and gain 4 pounds at the higher elevation.

I run 38/42. Most gauges are going to be a pound or two off. Leaves me a little bit of leeway as I only check once a month or every other month.
