Default HK Radio

When increasing the volume on the HK radio, it seems that after about 50% of the bars are displayed there is no increase in volume. Is it just my radio or is this normal?
If normal, will adding an amplifier give more volume?

Mine does the same thing. I think it's the way "automatic volume adjustment" works. When stationary, the volime seems to work all the way to the top. At speed, it is "maxed out" at a little over half.

The under tour pak amp is great and will add volume and cut down on didtortion. I have the older unit but at full power there is no distortion. I also have HOG TUNES.
