I see a map in the user submitted maps that would be very close to what I'd like for a starting point, but, it was made on a PC II. If i buy a PC III usb instead of a SERT will the map still work?

 

best bet is to get it dialed in perfect on a dyno. i had mine done at Tomicic Customs here in Windsor. He has a state of the art dyno room and is a meticulous tuner as he used to race. was very impressed as I spent some time watching him. total process took 3-4 hours.

 

Yes, that's all fine and dandy but I'd like to drive the bike from here to the dyno test. So back to the original question!

 

If you have a PC IIIr, then it is compatible with the PC IIIusb. The PC II is not! Dynojet doesn't show a model PC III. Check again to see if it's written on a II or IIIr. Most likely the submitter left off the end letter. If it was made on a III model it's good on both.

 

what the heck, you can try it, and if it doesnt work, go back to the origional map

If you can get a print out of the map from the PC II, you can then use a laptop computer to input the same settings to the Power Commander software. Then, upload the map to your PC III usb.

My PC III usb was set using the dealer's dyno so all I got was a print out of the settings. I input them into the Power Commander program I installed on my laptop just in case the PC III lost the settings somehow.

You'd think a big company like that would take all the maps and transpose them so that any map could be used on any system. You pick out the map you want and then the format you want it displayed in. Christ, I should be workin' for these people! LOL
