Great billboard. Appreciate the Texas Ranger pointing out that several petroleum products under the HD label are manufactured by Citgo Petroleum. Wow! Makes using Amsoil or Mobil 1 an easier choice.

Hey, knee-jerk reactions are what keep this forum entertaining!

When i did this, it wasn't a political post. I personally don't buy Citgo gas, but I just thought the video was funny. My two favorite lines:

"We just don't see *** everywhere we go on the side of the road in America."

"Gas ... it don't rhyme too well with ***" ....... (it don't???)

I think it is hysterical

By the way, yes SNOPES says that it is true. Chavez, as the President of his country, owns CITGO and has made the statements about usingthe profits against the United States.
did you read the whole snopes article? it also says:

Many different oil companies buy crude oil from Venezuela, so even Americans who shun CITGO brand gasoline have no guarantee that they aren't still sending their money to that country. And althout Citgo may be owned by Petroleos de Venezuela, it is a formerly American company which is still headquartered in the US (in Houston, TX), employs 4,000 people, and supplies 14,000 independent retailers with gasoline and other petroleum products - Americans with no substantive connection to Venezuela who would be economically harmed by such an action. (Citgo also provides free or discounted heating oil to low income communities and tribal reservations within the United States). And, of course, in today's oil market Citgo could likely find alternative buyers for its producst far more easily than the U.S. could make up the shortfall created by a cut-off of Venezuelan oil.
simply not buying a particular brand of gasoline is a good knee jerk reaction, but really in the grand scheme of things is nothing more than symbolism and naive. don't you think that profits from the oil that we buy from saudi are going into the hands of people who want to destroy us? the only real solution that we have is to develop alternative sources of energy that will wean us off that foreign oil tit. until then, we're screwed no matter what. so might as well ride more motorcycles so that we don't consume as much.
We have a winner,great post skratch !!!

Let's see - miserable nut job Chavez who is only interested inhis well being and wants to screw America or miserable nut job chairman of any other oil company who is only interested in his well being and wants to screw America?

I see very little difference. In either case we are getting screwed. I'm going to go make some Bio-diesel then figure out how to convert the scoot.

Citgo is changing their name to Petro Express. So watch out for that one too!

Wonder what we'll (okay, they'll) be riding 100 years from now? Bet it won't be gas combustion.

No it is not. Petro Express has nothing at all to do with Citgo.
