Default Suspension air pump

[sm=biker2.gif] Santa brought me a Sette suspension air pump and I tried it today. Well, my rear tire needed 5 or so lbs. of air so I hooked up the Sette and about a 150 pumps later I increased the pressure by 2-3 psi. Might be good for a dire emergency! Next, the shocks: Took the pressure up to about 15 psi. and released with a 40 lb. guage until 8 psi. Front shocks: took them up to about 20 psi. and used the air guage to release them to about 10 psi. Why do I have an air guage with a 400 psi. guage to use on an application with a maximum of only 25 psi.?

Are you asking why you didn't ask Santa to bring you the Harley pump instead? The HD one has a release right on it and a gauge with proper scale. Pump pump pump, release, repeat if desired, perfect. Never was a tool so well designed for the task at hand.

Most of these pumps are capable of high pressure but not high volume.

I too have one of the high pressure pumps...just use it for the shocks. The pressure gauge on the thing is useless as I need to have at least 30 or 40 psi before the dial shows any indication. By then, I’ve blown out the shocks.

The Sette pump is made good and is only $17 as opposed to $43 for the HD one, but yea it wasn't designed for the Harley shocks that is why it goes that high.
