Word of advise

RE: Word of advise
I too never used sun block until i reached my 40's. Now at 48, I had my first Basil Cell Cancer removed from my forehead a week ago wednesday. The doctor told me he didn't go as deep as my skull, but it sure looks like he did to me when i look in the mirror.I left my bandaid off the other day in the supermarket and the kids looked at me as if I was some kind of freak show. The procedure ended up looking like i was shot in the head. If your not using sun block now....then you better think about starting. Basil Cell is the milder skin cancers and you don't want the others at all. I wish I had that damn crystal ball when I was young, dumb and ........well you get the picture. I would have lathered up with no less than a 30 sunscreen whenever I was outside more than an hour.

RE: Word of advise
I spent 20 years on submarines, so only exposed to 60HZ sunshine during my formative years....But60 year old co-worker of mine just recovered from what they thought was fatal stage III melanoma....He was eat up with it 2 years ago, but now he tests clean....He was so bad he made a will and resigned himself to an early death.
Now he's clean and considering buying a trike.
Hang in there....don't lose faith.

This is the most important posting I have read since I have been on this forum. This needs pinned to the top of the forum for all to read. You can't add chrome to your bike if you are dead! Besides, adding sun block takes 1 minute of your time.

I'm also sorry for the pain some of you have experienced.
This isa topicthat isn't emphasized as often as it should be - I've been on some long rides and had some bad burns.
I'll be using the sunblock religiously from now on...
Thanks.

I'm one of those that get fried after about an hour on my bike in the sun. I used to work nights so now that I'm out during the day I burn easy on my face. Could be my meds but my arms are fine. Mostly the nose and cheeks. I'll try the Coppertone spray as the rest don't seem to work for me. Thanks
