Default Alloys or Spokes?

Having trouble deciding between new spoked rims or alloy rims. What are pros & cons?
- Spokes are harder to clean, right?
- Do spokes need maintenance?
- Most alloys that I see are a lot more $$$ than spokes are.
- Anything else that I am not thinking of???

Let's hear your thoughts guys(and gals) - thanks!

Spokes need tube tires, pain in the but to clean.
Mag wheels easy maintenance, but can break the bank to get.

when you get a flat and are stuck on the side if the road, then you'll know if you made right choice

Spokes need to be checked and tightened regularly, they can also break, need tubes, and are a pain in the a s s to clean.

Mags are much easier to clean, more durable, and to me look much better.

Changed the spoke wheels on my RK Classic to mags. If you have a flat on saturday out of town your stuck with spokes unless you can pull the tire and fix the tube. With the mags you at least have a chance to plug the hole and ride it to some place to make repairs.

My spokes are not hard to keep clean (white walls....OK. I give you that! LOL)
Get a flat in tubeless tires....what do you do? Pull the nail (whatever) and plug
it and if you have a pump, PUMP it up.
A falt in a tube? Put a can of fix-a-flat in it.......
Pluses and minuses for each. Get the wheel/tire combo you think you would like.
I have have stainless spokes and white walls........(I like them)

For me the Cons to spokes are:

1) Gotta keep an eye on them. Spokes can loosen
2) Pain to clean

The Pros for me are:

1) Look great
2) Haven't seen another RG with the same wheels
3) More customizeable
4) Mine happen to be tubeless (yes I carry a plug kit and small compressor on road trips)

Just my opinion
Zach
