RE: Trouble installing 7" Visor trim ring on headlight
I'm with yodaddy, I've had thisvisor on and off more times than I care to count.I also had the inner ring off to see what the problem was. It stock trim ring simply is too big in diameter to let the visor close up. How are you guys not using the stock trim ring to hold the visor on.

If you already put it on, get ready to take it off again if you put it on a road king. It will produce a whistle sound that will drive you nuts, (search whistle and read) to get rid of it, take off and buy some 1/2in wide stick on weatherstrip and put it around the outer edge of the stock ring and reinstall the new ring, this will fix it.

Got the same problem here. I took a closer look at the stock retaining screw while the new ring was onand found it actually pushes against the new trim ring causing the new ring not to seat. Gonna buy a flat head screw and try to get it to resess into the stock ring.

Just a poor design from the company that makes them for Harley and they won't switch to someone else or ask for a better design......who knows why. We've installed 100's of them at the shop and they are all the same. The fenched ring fits much better, but really they should just make one that is solid and "replaces" the stock one, instead of a cover.
