CHROME ADDICTS - Steering Neck Covers - HD or Kury???

Sorry for digging up an old post.
There is a question for those who installed Kuryakyn (7866).
I am trying to fit the right cover, but I am unable to position the rubber fork stop correctly.
If I place the fork stop high, it hits the cover, and it may break (moreover, the steering angle is greatly reduced to the right).
If I place the fork stop at the very bottom (where it should be) then the fork slider tube hits the cover and it can break.
How did you solve this problem?
Bike is 2000 RK Classic.
