Default didn't take long for dealer to raise prices

It was demo days this weekend. So I go up and ride a few of the bikes. I liked the road glide and wanted to buy one. Was quoted $3,000 dollars over MSRP. WTF??? Salesman say well were giving a $1,000 gift card with a bike purchaes today only and won't be offering it the rest of the summer since HD is cutting production and are limiting our inventory. Prices aren't what they used to be.What a buncH of CHIT. So the bikes now only 2 grand over msrp if you want the gift card and not the cash. He wanted me to make an offer, I said I wanted it for MSRP he said to make an offer sheet. I stated that I doubt they will come down 3 grand so I walked and kept my cash so I'm still looking. Guess they aren't hurting for sales yet.

If you are a member of Harley Owners Group, look in the back of the handbook and you can find the list of all the Harley dealers in you state along with their e-mail address. I would send them an e-mail telling them what you are looking for and that you are send this e-mail to every dealer in the state. Then ask them to e-mail you with their best price.

Last weekend a salesman at the dealership we were visiting said that they had been told not to refuse any offer out of hand, all offers would be considered and that they were loaded with 105th Anniversary models, please make an offer! I'm not really interested in trading, but I plan to visit at least 2 dealers in the Memphis area tomorrow and might see how close they will get on an '08 Ultra.

Call Topeka Harley-Davidson @ 785-234-6174, or check them out on the web (click it) ask for Jim Curtis, he'll treat you right. MSRP + tax, out the door....that's it. Plus, if they don't have what you want, they'll try to find it for you.
