Default Cargo tailer setup help.

Looking for some ideas for setting up new cargo trailer for my 08UC. Tie down points ect. A picture would be a big help. I have a small 5 x 10 with ramp and side door and need help from someone who knows how to do it. I don't make solo trips and my honey bunny don't like the rain so i am making do. yea i know you heard that whip crack too but damn she got a big purse.

This is my set up. I had a MCK-2 Rail Chock from another time. I put this in my enclosed trailer and use the E-Track System that came with the trailer. I will be adding more of this system. This is how I fasten to my EGC.

I have a 5x10. Installed a Condor wheel chock (best IMHO) and loading is effortless. They recommend only two tie-downs but I use four to keep the rear end from hopping around.

Just check the tie downs often - they will lossen up initially, then be fairly tight after that. You would be amazed how much a 750 lb. motorcycle can fish tail a trailer - given the straps allow JUST a bit of movement.

First I have a single axle 6X12 Cargo Mate. Here is what I did.

1. Painted entire floor and ramp with gray commercial paint.
2.Sprinkled non slip paint grit on floor and ramp with a grass seeder before 1st coat dried..
3. Painted second coat.
4. Installed 10 ft E trac lengths down both sides. Boltedtoo cross members or frame struts.
5.Installedextra D rings in wallsstruts for future tie downs if needed.
6. Bike Pro wheel Chock bolted through floor and cross members.
7. Installed stainless 2 space helmet rack with built in coat racks
8. Installed stainless strap tie down rack mounted in back.

Trailer is a 2006 with 2000 miles on it. Paid over $3500 new plus Accessories and labor. Will sell for 3000.00
Bought my wife a bike and I need a bigger trailer.

I have a 6X12 Pace with a single axle 16" wheels and torq suspension
I'd suggest using E-Track, then there's deck rings for tie downs no limitations.
I also have two Condor wheel chocks, and can set up as one single center (for my Ultra)
Or two staggered so I can load on two Heritage.

* I herculined the entire ramp and a 1 1/2 ft strip in the middle of the floor to the chock for traction.
* Installed the J&S removable locking front wheel chock
* Installed five ft sections of EZ track w/ D-rings
* Installed Titan bungie/tie downs racks on the wall
* Installed [2] 18 in cut sections of EZ Track on the other wall
* installed rubber diamond plate sections in front of side door
* ordered 48 in diamond plate cabinets for helmet and gear.

One thing most often overlooked on setting up a trailer, is the floor finish. My single axle Haulmark came with a wood floor. To me it was too slick. I went to Lowes and bought some non skid porch paint. It has sand or whatever it is. I made the DUMB MISTAKE of unloading my bike without having the stabilizers down and NOT hooked to my truck!!![:@][:@][:@] The trailer done a 45 Degree tilt with me on the bike trying to back it out of the trailer. Front tire never slipped a bit. It did take a while to get the seat out of my crack [][]. To date I've not pulled that trick again. Dan
