well i hope its not a burnt piston or valve.... that would probably be a bit costly to replace.... whats the thir part of the stage one kit that im missing? a fuel pack, or tuner???? sorry for the questions just wanna get it right.... i only drove it like 10 miles before i noticed the smoke and smell, i imediatley came home. would a burnt piston or valve happen that quick? and how would i know if either one of those is burnt? Thanks everyone for all your help

okay now will the vance and hinse fuel pack work for that or do i need to go get the down loads from the dealer? thanks
DON'T waiste your $$$$ on a Dealer Stage 1 Download - They are still required to adjust your '08 to meet EPA STANDARDS and that means they will be adjusting it LEAN....
Put your $$$ on a FUEL-MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (V&amp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\;H FuelPak - SERT - PCIII or ??)
SoCal is right!!

BUT!

Stage 1 won't affect warranty issues.

Just sayin'

Neither will a PC III as long as they put it on, Alot of dealers are dynojet dealers as well. I have had 2 minor issues (clutch &amp\\; a cam tensioner) covered.......no problem .............

I think you blew a head gasket and have water leaking in.

I have the same bike with a rinehart 2-1 and a se air cleaner and no download and no fuel managment and I have had no issues with the bike running poorly or hot so I really don't think it's just the air cleaner or exhaust causing the issue. What I am wondering is if that air cleaner is oiled and if so is it possible that it is over oiled or maybe one of your oxygen sensors isn't functioning properly but if that was the case I would imagine it would be rich causing black smoke not white but I would double check to make sure they're both plugged in at least just a thought.

You didn't put diesel in the tank by mistake.

Don't ask.

Since it's not a water cooled V-Rod were dealing with, then there's no chance for water in the cylinders. My guess would be if your climate has been hot and you have made your up grades without making a change in your fuel management system, then it would be my guess the bike was run lean. Hot days combined with a lean running condition would spell melt down. My first guess would be valve guide seals have gone bad, maybe a ring issue.
&nbsp\\;
However since you are not going to be working on it, I would suggest that you take it to a shop and have them check it out. Hard to speculate with seeing the bike.

Water in your fuel. I think that if had a burnt valve or piston you would see oil seepage in the intake or in the exhaust. Not to mention the backfiring/hissing sound.
