Wonder if that's work on my 05 Ultra?&nbsp\\; It's only done it one
time and I fixed it by getting up to 5th and lugging the engine
till it almost stalled.&nbsp\\; When I pulled in the clutch after doing
that, it idled down to it's usual about 950rpm. All the way up
from first to fifth it wouldn't drop below 2000rpm.
I may try it if it ever happens again.&nbsp\\; Hopefully it won't.&nbsp\\; I
was in a hurry and when I started the bike, as soon as it
cranked I eased the clutch out rather fast &nbsp\\;and pulled out.
When I went to 2nd is when I found out it wouldn't idle down.
Ride safe,
Dano

No, I don't take it as a negative. The TBW seems to be causing a lot of problems and two different mechanics (who have no stake in a sale) say that the 07 would be more responsive that the 08 and no more resetting.

Actually, I test drove an 07 today and, honestly, it is 6 in one, half dozen in another. Can't make my mind up.

1005, my service writer says HD plans to ignore it as long as possible.

from the wording of the TT380 post, it looks like if you paid $450 for a Super Tuner, (and prolly few hundred $$ for a dyno tune) you can't even run a Super Tuner or SERT until they get this figured out.

my bike is 100% stock - and to hot to ride. i want to get off at intersections, it's ROASTING.

an 06 is looking like a good bike now&nbsp\\;

I have an 08 FLHX and Ialmost always cancel C.C. by reversing the throttle and have never had any problems with high idle. Actualy haven't had any problems at all,at 4000 miles and counting. Good luck with the problem.

I've never had a problem with the idle by the way I've canceled CC.&nbsp\\; Also only had to reset the ECM once in 2,000 miles.&nbsp\\; It was hardly a big deal.

&nbsp\\;Had my 08 ultra in to Dealer for first service and he reflashed it with the"fix" for high idle. Runs like a whole other motorcycle. So far no more idle flares etc

Traded in a 06 RK for a 08 RK and like the 08 lots more, 7500 miles and no problems. It does seem to run hotter than the 06, just got back from a weekend in the Keys, rode around in shorts for two days, only problem was stuck in traffic in Key West. My buddy was riding a 07 electraglide and he was shutting his off at the red lights.

So, are you guys&nbsp\\; telling me you can NOT run a SE Race Tuner on an '08 Touring Model??? If so, how is anyone running after market pipes, just&nbsp\\; a one shot flash, or what??? I want to put a 103 Kit on my '09 before I take it out of the Stealership/Dealership and the more I hear about this TBW stuff the more concerned I become.&nbsp\\; Am I over concerned here, or not? lol Just hate to buy a new bike and only be buying a bunch of&nbsp\\; problems/headaches. But, I've already sold my '04 Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide. lol Maybe I'd be better off to buy an '07 off of E-Bay. What is the opinion of some of you '08 owners on the Throttle By Wire issue???&nbsp\\; Thanks

Ever since my tech told me the cause (not letting bike idle down before hitting the kill switch) I have yet to have the problem again.

i had noticed that my 08 S/G was having the erratic or high&nbsp\\;idle problem it would come and go but was&nbsp\\;no big deal to me the bike still ran and rode good. then at my thousand mile service i had a&nbsp\\;SE a/c kit and a full set of bub 7's installed with Harley's new tuner. i now have over 1500 miles and the bike runs perfect with no issues of erratic or high idle, or popping on decel i would say they ether re flashed the ecm when in for the 1000 mile&nbsp\\;service or retuning the bike took care of the problem.
