Default PIAA bulb a waste of money

Just installed the PIAA Powersports H4 Xtreme White Plus bulb #70456. Got it for $50 shipped. And it was a waste of money. The light in both high and low beam is dimmer than the stock bulb. The cutoff of the beam is shorter as well. Hell my passing lamps with stock beams have a longer reach than the low beam with this bulb. And there is really no white to it. It looks less yellow, but far from white. I rode home from work (40 miles) tonight with my highs on the whole way. Not one single flash from oncoming traffic. I get it a few times a night with the stock bulb when on high beam. This one is getting pulled and the stock bulb is going back until I can find something that is going to give me better night riding light.

I've never had luck with PIAA products. They are over priced and under perform... won't ever give them my money again. The driving lights I bought for $$$$$ were cheap plastic crap... got a set of metal driving lights from Kragen for $30 and they rock....

Motorcyclemetal and CustomDynamics both have nice plug and play HID units.&nbsp\\; The way to go for top notch lighting.

I'm not so much worried about more visibility as I am being able to see better at night. I need more light on the road ahead of me and on the sides.

And no way I would waste my money on Silverstars. They have a short lifespan. Not really interested in replacing a headlight bulb every 3-4 months. And yes I know there are people who have them last alot longer. They are the exception not the norm.

The problem with HD lstock lighting isn't the&nbsp\\;bulb nearly as much as the optics.&nbsp\\; Get a Cibie&nbsp\\;E-code reflector/lense unit through&nbsp\\;Daniel Stern&nbsp\\;(www.danielsternlighting.com) and you'll be amazed.&nbsp\\; Highly recommended.
&nbsp\\;
Don't&nbsp\\;you just&nbsp\\;love those //////????&nbsp\\; I add them for decoration.&nbsp\\; Guess I should&nbsp\\;just be glad it posted.

Been there, done that, same results.&nbsp\\; it's a shame, too.&nbsp\\; They give off a nice bright light.
