Default Blue Ridge Parkway & Skyline Dr.

Heading out tomorrow from Asheville north on the parkway thru Virginia to Skyline Drive. Taking 4 days to do the trip so I'll have a little time for side trips. Looks like it's going to be great riding weather. Anyone else going to be up there this week? I'll be solo on a 105th RG; you'll recognize me as the happy sob with a big grin.

Best time I had on 2 wheels to date where riding the BRP last year. Preferred the NC portion the best. Have fun. Wish I was going.

I was on skyline last month. Be cautious of the deer and other animals, including black bear. I saw many of deer grazing next to the roadway.

Thumbs up

Have a great/safe trip! My wife and I were down there last month ourselves and had a wonderful time.

Suggest to do a side trip to Maggie Valley and see Wheels Through Time before it moves.

I also suggest a ride on the cherohala skyway. In June a group of us rode from Franklin, N.C. Hwy 28N to deals gap (beautiful ride) via Fontana Dam to foothills parkway.

You're in for a treat mhud, forecast is for cool mornings and low humidity days all through the weekend. There is some construction from ~31 to ~65 on the Drive so be aware. Honk when you go by Swift Run gap, I'll wave at the ugly RG.

Be safe and enjoy!
