Sounds interesting... Some work some don't... Are the ones that work newer or older ones?

My dealer told me they redesigned them this summer. Mine works fine on temp but sometimes reads hi oil when it is just fine. It does what I bought it for.

I have one on each bike. The one on the RK is about 2 years old works fine. The one on the Heritage always said oil too high. I just disregarded until changing the oil late October and put in the correct amount. Still read high. Then when I took it out to look for a part number to see if I had the correct dipstick I noticed the shaft part was hanging by the wires. Pushed it in, voila, correct reading. I actually took out a half quart oil -wasted a half quart synthetic - to see if it would read correct before that. When it still said "high oil" I knew something was wrong.

Mine just fell apart last week (literally came apart in pieces). I bought it in April of this year. 1st it had oil in the display, then last week I went to take it out to top off the oil. Chrome ring came off first, then the wire ripped out of the head.
I took it to the dealer where I bought it and am waiting for the final word of
whether it will be replaced....partial store credit or put into their trash can to save space in mine.
If they don't replace it....neither will I.
Highest temp I saw on it was 233 degrees this past summer.

I was going to get one but the parts manager told me to save my money.
