Default my ride won't start

I took my tourpak off to send it to the painter last week. Today I tried to start it to charge the battery and when I press the start button, nothing. The dash lights work and the headlight seems bright, but it won't turn over. Does having the tourpak removed have anything to do with it? I know I unplugged some wires but I didn't think that would keep it from starting. Anybody know about this???

not to be a smartazz, but I've done this, have ya checked the kill switch?? If its good, maybe something in the ignition. Do the lights dim when you hit the start button?

Thanks for responding. I checked to be sure but that's not it. I just called my local dealer and they said that I must have "pulled" the wires while removing the tourpak. That just doesn't sound right. When I turn the ignition switch on, the turn signal arrows on the dash blink back and forth. Almost like a code or something. They keep doing it even after I turn the ignition switch off.

turn everything off, set the security with barrel key, then try unlocking and restart again. Oh yeah, what year is yours?

Does your bike have HD security? It sounds like security is telling you that you are trying to steal the bike. How close to the bike is the fob. Check the battery in the fob.

Man, you hit the nail on the head. Wow, I'm really stupid. I keep my security fob in my tourpak when I'm around the area where I live. I only take it out when I park somewhere that I don't feel safe leaving in there. When I removed the tourpak, I left it in the liner and put the liner in the living room, too far away to allow the bike to start. I never even gave it a thought until I read your response. Wow, thank god for this forum. You guys are cool. Thanks for helping the "dumb' guy.

Hey hammerhead, we all have brain farts from time to time. Don't feel too bad.
