Question Road King Bag lids

Hey I currently have a pair of Police hard bags and want a change. I am wondering if I could replace the police lids with regular lids and just change the hardware????? Anyone done this?

It is possible if you purchase the new lids, lathes, hinges, etc, and are ok with leaving the Police bag "catch" on the bottom of the bag where the old locks are. By the time you went through all that trouble, you could probably find a set on ebuy for right about the same price. I ended up getting a "stock" set to replace my cop bags for about $500.

See lids on ebay all the time and you may even find a match. But yes, find a pair and just have em painted.
