Default Plugging Holes in Rear Fender

I know there are probably some threads here on this, but couldn't locate any. I am in the process of having my '06 Street Glide painted. Thinking about plugging the holes for the tail light and adding a license plate/tail light combo. I already eliminated the turn signals and am using the saddle bag spoiler lights as run/turn/brake. If I make this mod, I still want a center tail/brake light.

Any advise, pictures or links to existing threads would be greatly appreciated.

Would be wise to make sure whatever lights you use, that they are "D.O.T" approved. (Will have D.O.T. embossed on plastic lens somewhere.)

So if I understand correctly, you removed the tail light bar and want to run the stock style rear brake light? If so Drag Specialties has a license plate bracket that mounts directly under the stock tail light base and covers the holes that the turnsignal bar used. I think the price of the bracket is $120 or so for the nice chrome one. Hope this helps. I am not near my Drag fat book or I would get the p/n for you.

Actually, I already have that bracket. I like it a lot, but am thinking of eliminating the stock tail light and having the holes in the fender filled in and using a different type of tail light.

Here's a thread that has at least 3 interesting SG a$$ ends. Might give you something to think about.

Awesome bike. I just ordered a tank panel from Dennis Kirk. Looks the same as on this bike. Not sure what I am going to do for a gas cap. Any thoughts?

Check out Paul Yaffe's bagger Nation website. You can get a stock SG rear fender that has the holes filled in. But it isnt cheap

Find a good welder. Plugging holes is apiece of cake for a good fab. man. But you will need some body work. Best of luck......................
