if your cones are 'ripped to sh*t', and you don't wash your bike, then its possible that the high volume on your ipod sent enough distortion through your head unit to the speakers which caused the damage.
distortion doesn't have to be loud to do a lot of damage.

Was wondering about that. Wonder if the stereo problems may have also contributed. Someone else suggested that I use 75% iPod volume and use the system volume instead.
I've had Hogtunes for 4 years and play the chit out of them. Call Pez. You were having problems with the stock speakers so maybe it's not a speaker problem at all. Either way, Pez will make it right.
