Love the power, hate the MPG's
Before the 95" upgrade, I was getting around 40 mpg (hwy/city mix).
After the upgrade, getting around 32-34 mpg.
I love the power, and really like to get on the throttle, but I did not think the drop would be this big.
Have any otheres expierenced this?
Mike.

Yeah, but were you cranking on it like my06NT admits to doing?
At least the OP is being honest when he admits what he's doing and that's the first step. A retune "might" fix, or at least help the problem but won't if the rider spends most of their time with that right wrist pointed straight at the ground!
Bottom line is, there's no free lunch. It takes burning fuel to make power and the more power you ask the engine to produce, the more fuel it's going to consume doing it.
As for those who get better gas mileage after the FI mods, this is my opinion on that. What's good for emissions isn't necessarily good for fuel economy and it's definitely not good for performance. I think that's why so many folks report a fuel mileage improvement after richening up their fuel mixtures. The bike it running happier and as long as the rider doesn't ask the bike for more performance, on average, they wind up getting a couple of mpg better. I'm still researching what I want to do with my bike and I "hope" I'll see a fuel economy improvement with it but I know that won't happen if I use the full potential of the performance improvements I should also see. In the end, it'll be as much about how "I" ride the bike as it will be about the mods I've made to the bike.
We'll see!

The correct mixture for most air breathing engines is 15 lbs of air to 1 lb of fuel. More power equals more fuel, more fuel equals less mileage. Or, more power requires more heat (combustion) more heat requires more fuel. Like someone else said "no free lunch".

I have had it tuned while doing the upgrade, both HP and TQ hit the target where I wanted 100/100 and the air/fuel ratio was inline as well.
What should the air/fuel be set at for best MPG?
As a note, when I had it tuned, I told the guy I wanted the max power fromt he set up, but I just did not think my mpg would drop that much.
I was expecting a drop of 5mpg or so not closer to 10 mpg.

As others have said, you should look into a re-tune. With my 103" Stage III, I am averaging 43+ mpg. Last Sunday, on a 250 mile ride with 10-12 mph winds, I averaged 44.13mpg
One tank full, when I really got on the throttle a lot, I averaged 41.88 which was lower than I anticipated, but still pretty damn good!
