Yeah I know funny ? but Im wondering what you guys do with your helmet when you get to the spot your riding too. For example I went out to the beach boardwalk last weekend and when we got there we had to carry our dang helmets with us in the 100 degree weather. I have a very expensive half helmet so im not leaving it on the bike- it doesnt fit in the hard bags cause of the speakers-- I seen a bike helmet lock that like goes on the front tube/crashbar.... So what do you guys mostly do keep in mind I live in the city so there is no way i can leave it on the bike without some kind of security guys get their bags snatched right off all the time... Thanks for your input I wanna get to the bottom of the mystery..

 

I put mine in my tour pack. But my half helmet will fit in the side bag.

my half helmet still fits in my bag with speaker. most of the time i'm around other bikers and most leave there helmets on there bikes I guess its an honor code or something cause i never heard of any1 getting there helmets stolen

All I can suggest - assuming a cable lock for the helmet isn't an option to you - is maybe a backpack? It sounds like helmet has to go with you in the environment you mention.

I think Shoei has a soft/fleece lined backpack type thing specifically for helmets.

My half helmet I don't care so much about so will hang it on the right hand grip, but my $460 Shoei X-Eleven no way - it goes with me period.

 

Locking your helmets exposed if they're good ones isn't advisable. Any creep can cut the straps off and get the straps replaced for a couple of bucks. That's what happened to my Arai, lucky it was about time to change to a new lid so it didn't bug me that much. If it's a half, get a clip that you can clip to your belt or belt loop on your jeans.

Hang mine on the bars. I live in a helmet free state so there isn't much chance of it getting stolen.

They see the cuffs and think it belongs to a cop

 

I just put the strap in the bag and hang the helmet off the side of the bag. Never had one stolen.
