The slash up does follow the lines of the bags and look good, but I personally prefer slash to the side.

keeping them clean (rust free) on slash up, clean the inside of the muffler well, use hi-temp bbq paint and coat the inside. Works well, did this on prior HD. Going to do this on my turnouts.

slash down...Just don't like to expose the opening hole as slash down minimizes.

Slash downs - the slash up show too much of the inside of the pipe. The slash ups do match the downward slant of the bags but I think the slash downs just look better

I have a set with the slash facing out.
I think it looks good like that.

That said, I use my Bassani Megaphones as I think they look better yet.

The slash up follows the line of the hard bags..... just looks right.

Slash up, follows hard bag angle line. Just looks right. As far as water entering, as soon as you fire up and warm up, it evaporates away. Can rub off the crud from the chrome pipes easily with a rag. I like em.
