Thumbs up Inexpensive Luggage Rack That Actually Works

I purchased a Motherwell Luggage rack back in 2004 for my 1200R Sportster but never really found it very functional because of the curved shape and no way to keep the bungie cords from sliding around on the rack.

I was looking for a functional rack for my 2009 FLHX to use with a solo seat. I came across the Motherwell Gunfighter Solo Luggage Rack.

http://www.motherwellproducts.com/So...-p/mwl-432.htm

I ordered one from Dennis Kirk (about $60) and I gotta say it is a great alternative to the Harley rack which costs a small fortune by the time you finish buying the docking harware and the rack.

I purchased a Tombstone Explorer Bag off of Ebay ($60). It fits the rack very well. While not as big as a tour pack it does hold quite a bit. The bag can be attached to the rack with a couple of nylon staps or bungee cords and around he riders backrest. Because this rack is flat and has tiedown hooks in each corner it is actually quite fuctional. To top it off I think it looks pretty good too.

Just thought I share this for anyone looking for an inexpensive, functional solo rack.

I've had my Motherwell rack for 5 years and it looks as new as the day I bought it. Works and looks great.
