Default Picking up the new SG tommorow will it fit ?

I,m picking up my new street glide tommorow and would rather just use my truck instead of the traler .
I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado ext cab short box .
Its abought 6ft. 4 in. straight back and baraly 95 at an angle ..
If I turn the steering whell will it fit with the tail gate shut ??
I,m anchoring it down with ratchet straps , wheres a good anchore point ??

What would turning the steering wheel have to do with what fits in the bed?

Default Makes it shorter /?

I believe by angling the bike and turning the the front wheel of the bike to the left or right shut get it in a inch or so more .
Dealer service says I should use a trailer .
I have an 8 foot aluminum trailer with low sides and tall removable talegate , ramp .
I,ll have to install some anchores in floo or sides of main frame .
What do you think ???

Please ride the bike home. You'll definitely hurt it's feelings if you instantly put it in a truck.

I agree, I think you should ride it home. Is that a big deal?

I don't think you'd be able to close your tailgate...u can probably fit it in but with the tailgate down. If you do you might want to take some plywood to help distribute the weight that is otherwise on the tailgate. Friend tried that...it worked but left a nice dent in his tailgate

Well if riding it home is not an option then it will fit in the truck. No need to angle or turn wheel. Just put it straight in and leave the tailgate down. If you are at all worried buy an 8ft 2x12 and park it on that. Use the anchors on your truck with motorcycle tie downs on the handle bars. Good idea to use nylon straps and hook tied downs to those. Make sure they are good and tight. But I do agree that riding it home is better. You also wont have to worry about topping it over when loading and unloading...seen that happen before. Good luck
