My cruise control acted up. Dealer had to switch out the thumb control on right grip and has been fine for over a year now.

No major problems for me but more than enough small problems for 25k miles
battery went bad 1st 3 months .. left me stranded
fuel basket went .. left me stranded 1st 6 months
heated grips have quit working 4 times (in the shop today for repair)
5 fairing brackets have broke 2 different repairs
starter clutch making noise (in shop today)
lifter tapping when cold for about 3-4 minutes till it warms up a bit (shop today) just started that about 2-3 weeks ago
spring on saddle bag latch broke
throttle grip came loose and was starting to slide off
a couple other minor things I can't think of now
ALL have been fixed under warranty no charges to me other than the time and hassel to get it to the dealer, which is about 1 hour away, (dealer has been great for everything even though I do all regular maint myself) but my warranty is up in about 6-7 weeks, so hopefully all the 'bugs' are worked out and no major problems are comming.
I still love the bike and have no thoughts of getting rid of it.

My 08 EGC has 17K on the odo. Had the fuel filter shell recall done and had absolutely no problems with the bike, she runs great. My wife and I even like the stock seat, just got back from a 1900m round trip and no complaints. Was much more comfortable than my 06 road king with a Sundowner seat. Ride safe. You may wanna do a search for the compensator sprocket as there are some who say they had to have theirs replaced and let's not forget the rumor about the crank shaft run out..I hear that has happened to a couple of bikes but never confirmed it. Just do your research and I am sure you will find all the info you can handle.

I have 23305 miles and I have loved every minute. However the bike is scheduled for a shop visit this week to resolve a howling issue that I believe is coming from the front pulley/trans output pulley. This is the same problem that 'Iclick' explained in another thread. I'll keep u all posted on the fix.

Whatch out for washboarding in the ABS. I had the software "upgrade" on my 09 and it still does it.

Cool ABS Washboarding ??

Hey Clutchglass,
What do you mean by "washboarding" with the ABS brakes? What does the bike do when this happens?

Well, lets see:

a. Mine was a dog out of the box, and I had to do the stage II with 255 cams, exhaust, AC, Clutch spring to make it into a bike.

b. I had to do the compression releases to get it to start when hot.

c. Replaced starter with the SE high output model.

d. Installed Capt inch crotch cooler to help stop butt and thigh burn, and Capt Itch drink holder to hold my bevredge handily within easy reach.

e. Well that's enough major stuff, of course there is always little chrome bits and fuel lid button that they all get.

Oh, and NONE of the above was under warranty, all out of pocket.

Had fuel filter shell, one fairing bracket, a lower fairing was replaced (clear coat flaking off), both deflectors (cracking), rear master cylinder and brake lines. Had issues with cruise control (wires chaffed). Everything under warranty I think relative minor. I have over 35,000 miles and love this bike.
