Sta-Bil Ethanol Treatment
#15
Hard to have one consensus here because of the various blends of gas. I'm between Milw & Chicago and EPA sez we have to run the "oxygenated" stuff here. Total crap. In even a month of dis-use it starts to form a varnish-like junk in carb bowls and clogs passages. I have a CBR crotch rocket, some CB 750s, a 6-carb Valk and 3-carb jetski so I have to be a "little" careful in winter. No probs with the regular Stabil but I'm going to try the other stuff in one of the old CB750s since it's a 2 second job to drop the carb bowls to compare. As mentioned, it's a whole different thing in injected bikes, no bowls, needle passageways etc. and nozzles tend to be self-cleaning. 'member, we're taking a fuel pump vs engine vacuum on fuel delivery. Never used SeaFoam as a stabilizer but heard good things. I've only used it in the oil & gas of snowblowers and similar 4 strokes with valve probs.
