203 or 211 cams ?
Hi everyone, I want a set of cams but am unsure which to get.
Here's my setup so far sert, high flow air filter, and v&h bigshots. Which cam is good for 2000-3500 rpm's? Thanks Bill. |
Out of those 2 the 203 would better suit your needs. Ive had in a 211 in my SG for the past 13,000 miles and I can say the cam really shines between 3200 and 5800. Im not saying its a dog below 3200, but the 203 will come on a little earlier.

I believe the 211's are for 103" or bigger motors and are known for mid-range to top end power gains. They usually require high compression pistons, also. The 203's make their peak power around 5500rpm, but are almost unnoticeable to me compared to stock.
That's why I use S&S gear drives. |
Do a search on SE255 cams

Of the two you mentioned, the 203 is a better bet. It's a very mild, low-mid rpm torque booster. It's a true bolt in cam for the tc96. The 211 won't work well at low rpm's without boosting compression.
I'd look at the 204. It's a good all-around bolt in for the tc96. It will boost low and midrange torque, and it's got a killer sound at idle, if that's important to you. |
