Default Lowered Front Fender

I went the Todd Holland route last winter, pretty straightforward, but if I had it to do over, I'd change the way the stock bracket is removed. The instructions have you drill out the rivets from the outside of the fender until they pop loose from the bracket. I did this on one side, and found it easier on the left side bracket to grind the rivets off from the inside. That way, if you slip with your grinder or Dremel tool, you nick the inside of the fender which is easily repaired and never seen. Do that to the outside of the fender and you need to touch that up.

Here are a couple of photos of the finished install.

My body man tried that on the first fender. He found that they didnt break free to easy and ended up drilling from the outside, like I did with the second fender (long story). All I did was grind the rivet head flat so that the drill would not make the fender walk in the clamps......btw USE A DRILL PRESS to drill out the rivets. I had to get creative with blocks of wood inside of the fender for spacing because of the size of my drill press, but was easy enough.

I'll have to look at that. I was eyeing one on Ebay that has the caps as well.

The ones I was looking at are from Bad AS Hell

Axles: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

If you do order the caps and axles, Mike Correll in that ebay link is a forum member and he's awesome to deal with! His prices are the best I've seen.

Regarding the dropped front fender, I did the Native CustomBagger fender, shaved the rivets and smoothed the whole side out:

Harley has a lowering fender bracket to put a Fatbob fender on a Tour bike, I just dont use the Fatbob fender, have done about 8 of them so far and no repaint, easy to do , I cut the original fender brackets just above the fender line and drill holes to the fender to mount. here is couple pic's , and the brackets from Harley are less than a 100.00. if you want to know where to drill, send me a note and I will tell you.

Didn't realize he was a forum member. Might have to look him up and ask some advice for the install. Looks straightforward but I like to be prepared before tearing anything apart.
I wanted to go the smooth route, but dont have access to a welder and didnt want to spend more money than I did for basically the same result.

Still doesnt look as clean as the Native Customs bracket kit, even with the chrome button head screws.

The Todd Holland kit also moves the fender back so it's centered properly over the tire most kits only lower.
Harleys front fenders look totally stupid if you don't move them back.
You don't need a drill press to install this kit just a center punch to mark the rivets and step drill them out, it took longer to get the fender off than it took to install the kit.

I dented mine all up doing a "quick" drilling out of the rivets. If I were doing it over again I'd grind them from the inside. I used the TTRW kit.

I used the native bagger weld in kit. You could just bolt on if you want. I had to drill the rivets out from the outside. The native bagger brackets are very nice and the spacer are avaible in any finish you want. I went with the regular billet to polish but ended up painting them to fender color. I also took the flares out on the bottom of the fender to get a cleaner look. Good Luck
