Have the opportunity to get a TC96 and 6 speed tranny from an 07 Wide Glide with 3800 miles on it. Was thinking about taking that motor out, putting it in my 05 FLHT, and putting the 88 and 5 speed in the wide glide and selling it. The Wide Glide's a rebuild anyway. Will the non matching Numbers make a difference. I really have the intention on keeping my FLHT forever. Seems like a possible cheap way to get a 6 speed and a bigger motor. And get rid of the spring loaded cam tensioners. And get a black motor instead of the granite color. What do you think?

 

i believe if nothing else there are some motor mount issues to be dealt with. There are certainly threads out there discussing this, teh search function is your friend.
