I don't have same bike as you, but I am ordering my apes tomorrow. Have been kicking around the height for months. I knew Cyclesmiths 13" would not appease me, so I considered custom 14's or the Wild 1 14's. After much more deliberation and reading of members "wishing" they went taller, I am going to order 16" Cyclesmiths. I was also concerned about the pullback of some (11.5 inches on Wild1 compared to 8.5 CS) Too much would be uncomfortable for me I believe.
Its my opinion, go big or go home

I put 18" chubbys on a brother's 05' Road King and he absolutely loved it. He road it 200 miles the next weekend with no issues, and I road it home (good times). We set them so that is quick release windhshield could still be used (he never used it.....). The wiring harness and clutch were easy but I had a local shop do the throttle cables. If you've got the wingspan go 18. If not, you'll be happy with the 16's.
