I finally pick up my 2010 RKC this Saturday. I ordered it through overseas military sales in March while in Kyrgyzstan on my way to Afghanistan. Flame blue pearl. Still undecided on pipes, but leaning towards jackpot 2-1-2 with V&H Monster Ovals with a PCV. Input welcome.

Congrats. You're going to have a blast.

If you are like most of us RK owners, you will want to change out the stock handlebars. There are a LOT of threads here on the subject. I went with the Heritage style bars.

G Man,

thank you for your service.

I installed monster ovals on my 2010 RKC last night, only rode for 20 mins. to heat up and re torque. I left the cat as is for now, adding heavy breather and tuner in couple weeks, the pipes sound good, real deep, louder than stock but only a bit.

Default Thanks

Ericl,
I have heard the monster ovals on other people's bikes, which is why I want them. I love that deep, throaty sound, but I don't want too much volume. I'm planning on burning some serious miles, and I have enough hearing problem as it is.

I'll have to check out the heritage style bars too. I had some really wide beach bars on my fatboy, and liked them. Just moved from Hawaii, and that was a pretty popular style there, but I don't know if I want beach bars on my RKC.

I am 5'8" with a 30" inseam, so I am considering some lowering options too. I have been lurking and watching other threads on the subject, and I think changing the rear shocks for street glide 12" shocks, and changing to a lower profile seat like the sundowner will give me the extra reach I need.

Again, any suggestions are welcome.

I'm 5'11" with a 30" inseam. I would suggest you do the seat before the shocks. I have stock shocks and am running a Drag Specialties seat it puts me in the perfect height range. (not in picture)

and good choice on the bike and color.

Dude, Toypuller... at 5' 11" with a 30" inseam you must have the longest upper body ever.

Love your bike. Hope mine looks as good.

Congrats! Great choice!

1st, thanks for your service. It's beyond appreciated.

2nd, lower your seat first, Heritage bars (mid height), and check out www.fuelmotousa.com for exhaust (I would if I had a new '09 or '10 ride).

3rd, as far as break in goes, since it's cold up North, I would ship your bike to me in S. Florida. It will be a struggle, but I'll put some miles on it for you. Softly, of course!!
