Default HD Shock Pump / Zero Air Loss

Ok, so is it just me? I have the HD Shock pump. A little on the pricey side but a nice little tool for the job. The big claim and HD language describing this pump call it a "zero air loss" valve attachment. So either I got a bad pump or this zero air loss claim is BS.

On my 09 Ultra with my 250lbs and loaded gear, the manual is calling for 50lbs. The manual also says to never add more than 50lbs. No matter what I do or how fast I try to unscrew the attachment, I always loose 5 to 10 lbs.

I think you've got a faulty pump. I've got the HD pump and I lose very little if any air connecting and disconnecting the pump from the valve stem.

The 09 air shocks are a different animal than the 08 and earlier touring bikes. My 08 needed only 20 to 25lbs max.

My first pump was faulty. The bleeder valve didn't work. The replacement works great with minimal air loss.

It should'nt lose that much air. Take it back for an exchange.

I have had my air pump since 2001, it still loses no air when unhooking.
