Default Detachable Tour Pack Rack

I've read some post from early '09 where some people were having extreme issues with getting the '09 HD # 53276-09 or 09A to fit properly on the four point docking system.

Has anyone bought this item recently and if so, did it go on easily.

I was looking at the chrome luggage racks but for the few times I'm going to strap a bag on the back of my SG, $144 with the discount is a lot better then the $250+ for the luggage racks. Plus if I ever decide to get a tour pack, I already have the rack.

I had no issues. Might have to bend the sides a bit to get it to fit right.

Hello!

I am involved with the manufacturing of the detachable tour packs and backrests for the 09-10 bikes.

I can tell everyone that the original 53276-09 had some interference issues with the docking hardware, but would still fit with some effort. The 53276-09A has corrected the problem with the interference with the docking hardware and should fit with minimal effort. This is the reason for the "A" at the end of the current part number.

I have a 2009 Street Glide and the tour packs fits great. But I have had some trouble getting the backrest on and off easily. I have found that the docking hardware that I have is not formed perfectly for the backrest. I have the dimensional specifications for the backrest and I have found that the docking hardware that I have is a little off. But its still works and I think every bike is gonna fit a little different.

Just my 2 cents to throw in.

But I am now looking at the FBI docking solution for the 09-10 bikes. It is very clean looking and the hardware is not very visible. But right now they are only showing a kit for the backrest and not the tour pack. I have emailed FBI to see if they are in the making of a kit that will handle the backrest and tour pack.

I have the four point dock with detachable solo rack and solo TP. I guess all four points would be used in the 2up position. I really have no use for the four point, but I didn't know it only used the two foward points and the upper shock mounts.

Here are some pics.

I did buy those black covers for the rear mounting points since this pic was taken.

I have the FBI backrest kit and the FBI Tour pak bracket on my 2010 street glide and love it.
