You can get that with cams intake and exhaust.

Get the '10. No question.

+1 and do the work yourself. Plenty of threads on here about installing cams. Get rid of the cat in the head pipe (or replace head pipe). Cost totally depends on what you chose for pipes, tuner, and air cleaner. Most cams and install kits run close in price to each other (if buying new).

Yea, Cams are not difficult to install at all. I did cams and bearings on my 88CI SoftTail Standard. Much help here and who knows, maybe I'll do cams on mine in the future....

If you like the way the 08 is set up then it's a matter of test riding both and close together in time as you can. Back to back would be perfect.

In AZ if you're buying a bike from a private party there's no sales tax. I dunno if it works the same way there.

I can tell you I made my 99 Electra Glide ride better than an 09 or later by putting on some decent shocks (front and rear), Touring Link Stabilizer, and E3 tires as I mentioned before. Total cost was under $1k. You would only need the shocks (front and year) for the 10. Total Cost $700.

Do the '10 model...the improvements in frame, suspension, wider rear tire will give you the handling and touring comfort that will make riding fun.

Building the bike (over time) is just as fun. If memory serves, the SE-211 cam in the 96" motor will give you a decent bump in tq and hp. Plus, as time goes on, you'll see the things that "you" like that will make the bike yours. That's my $.02
