I had a FLHP and it was great going from a Vulcan Classic 1500 to that Road King but as soon as the new Harley thing wore off and I needed to get a big I really liked, I ran and got a STREET GLIDE.

Let's just start a poll and then have a tinkle contest.

I like the SG and the RK. I ride an RK and an Ultra, so I know what a Batwing is like. I'm in the line of thinking detachable BW for the RK if you want a sound system. Several on the market. Great upgrade too.

i have a street glide looking RKC..at least froim the rear...did the SG rear end. though the SG looks sweet, the fairing is not for me. the versatility of popping it off for a purer riding experience is priceless. my next purchase will be extended bags, followed by an incognito sweet speaker/tunes setup in the bags.

i lve my roadking. im my opinion i think it is the most versatile bike. Because of the aftermarket batwing fairing you can get the best of both worlds

ok.....Folks on this end telling me the RK is a better bike for the long ride....but the SG you can throw around more....a little sportier ride.....Most of my rides are Sunday runs.....1 hr or so....find a biker friendly bar....1 hr ride.....we put on 100-150 miles, mostly back roads.....some nice straits to blast off....

Now, for the guys who have had both....what's your view?

You'll hear 100+ different responses from guys extolling the virtues of their respective models. The thing to ask is, what is the deal breaker for you? A fairing? Tall windshield? Radio? Wheel options? I could sit here and tell you that pound for pound, and sparkle for sparkle, my Street Glide kicks the **** out of any Road King on the road. But at the end of the day, it's your garage the bike you purchase will sit in. Not mine, not Johnny ****nuts over in Texas. Once you understand what YOU truly want in a bike, then you move forward. What I want, or they want, isn't the deciding factor in your choice.

Either way, you will be happy with your choice. Both bikes are awesome.
