Another vote for the HD High Viz rain suit.

Not as compact as the packable version and does take up more space but when worn you stay as dry as a bone. First test of the gear was on a ride out to west Texas and rode in a constant down pour from San Antonio to Del Rio and was very pleased with the suit and made the ride even enjoyable.

Also bought a off brand of rain gatters for the boots which also helped out as well.

Like previously posted which ever suit you decide to go with try it on first with your other riding gear to make sure you get the right fit.

Get the best you can afford, and yes I go for High Vis. Just because cagers can not see you in good weather, I do not want to give them a reason for not seeing me in the rain. Just my 2 cents

I bought the HD packable before I left for Sturgis last year and rode in the rain for the first 2 days, they worked very good and don't take up much space, I'll stick with them.

Last summer I got caught on my way to Deadwood SD in a typical rain storm in Black Hills so when we got to Deadwood I found the Harley Shop there and they had the High Visibility rain suit in my size and it fit just right and as others have said kinda of pricey but i needed and one so i bought it , never been sorry , got caught again on the way to Rapid City on I 90 @ 70 miles an hour did not get wet and the High Visibility doesn't hurt a bit, go for it you won't be sorry.

Do these packable suits do the job or should I get the high vis ones?

Know of a good place to buy Harley suits online?
i am also looking for my wife and i been caught in a nasty storm over NH 7 hrs of rain so that was my deciding factor anybody know what the harly suits are going for today?

+1 on the High-Vis rain suite. We rode home from a weekend trip last year, just over 300 miles in the rain and we were both dry, except for my hands (no waterproof gloves).

I believe the bright orange improves the chances of being seen by cages, especially in a heavy down pour.

Another vote for the Hi-Vis. Rode thru a downpour and it worked fine. I do like the orange for better visibility in all the spray.
