Interesting because I had the exact opposite experience. I just came back from a 1,000 mile ride and the fairing was covered with bugs. Using the same sample HD bug remover and sponge, they all came right off. I'll be buying more. Instructions say it is water activated. Did you wet your bike first?

I sponge on warm/hot water. Let it sit a couple, wipe again, then chamois off.

a coat of wax every once and a while helps with keeping the bugs from sticking. Then a warm wet towel or even a quik detailer works for me.

I live in hard core bug country, I use Spray Nine on bugs and the whole bike for that matter. Melts them right off.

Where can I find this at ? Is it safe on flat paint jobs? I have been using Windex so far so good.

Reviving this old thread to say that i just tried 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and water in a spray bottle and it is amazing how effective it is. Bugs practically melt off. Highly recommended. No reason for expensive stuff.

That's what I use. easy to get at $ general on the road also.

you are suppose to clean ? i rather be riding, the bike looks really good after it rains, usually no bugs, does that count
