Used a Nuvi 750 with a ram mount for several years with no problems. Got a Zumo 660 with my new limited and it works great. The fairing mount is nice and out of the way.

Does the box hinder the view of the screen at all?

I use a Garmin 750. As far as vibration goes, I've got a lot more vibration in my Eclipse than I do on my StreetGlide. I don't think vibration is an issue at all.

Garmin 765 with stock mount stuck to the tach face--can still see tach needle sweep 2500-4500rpm (not that I need to see it anyway).

The unit has a MP3 player from a SD card or can use the line out into HK aux in.

Did a 250 miles last Saturday in intermittent rain and just put a zip lock baggie over the whole thing-- not a problem.

I have been using a Tom-Tom XL330S since last December and so far so good. My bike is on the road for several hundred miles each week with no apparent issues.

The biggest problem with the Garmin's that I have had relates to the power cord slot. I always removed the unit from the Ram mount when I parked the bike, and to do that, you have to disconnect the hardwired power cord from the unit. If you use internal battery power instead of hardwiring the unit, it will only last for an hour or so. The metal wings holding the power cord slot in the side of the unit will eventually dislodge and make it inoperable. I have had 2 garmins that did that, and could not be repaired. Every time you pinch the release tabs of the power cord to remove it, the housing gets some stress applied to it and will eventually fail. At least in my experience. That's why I got the Zumo, which has a completely different and much better power slot which has not given me any problems in 2 year of service.

Good point, but I just use the as supplied 12v plug into the ciggie lighter socket behind the fairing on the Electraglide. I have never removed the power cord from the 765 as the unit gets its power through the unit cradle attached to the suction cup mount.

I just slot the 765 into the cradle and for removal press a button and the 765 comes off the cradle.
