Default Texas title transfer ???

I'm going to Dallas to purchase a Bike this evening. there's still a balance on the note at a local bank. What is the form # I need for the bank to send me the title when I pay it off? I'm gonna try to download one off of the internet so I don't have to find a local tax office

BTW, I'm taking the cash to the bank tomorrow, not giving the pay off amount to the bike owner LOL!

Are you sure you can get a clear/clean title if there is still a lien on the bike and title? I would think the note would have to be paid off on the bike before you can take clear title of the bike. At least that is the way it has worked in Louisiana and Oklahoma where I have purchased bikes before. If there is still payment due there should still be a lien on the bike and I would be careful to ask the right questions.

I think his second post clears that issue up.

according to the individual who bought my bike recently( in texas) the '130 u' form isn't necessary anymore. All the state needs is the signed title. The state assigns a purchase price for tax purposes.
When I bought a bike with a bank lien several years ago, both the seller and myself went to his bank. The bank handled the 'release of lien' as I paid for the bike then and there. Then the release of lien activity handled by the bank resulted in the clear title going to the seller, who three weeks later mailed to me. Then I went to the tax office for the transfer of title.
Hope this helps.
My proof of purchase was the bill of sale signed by the seller.
