I just did this on my 03 eg classic. The 140 looks better, however it did rub a hole and tear in the belt dust cover under the bike. I smelled it burning but the damage was done before i figured it out. Im not sure how much good the cover does anyway.

Man, I just assumed the last installer put the right tire on my bike. it is a 130 though. A 150 will fit?

If you have the later 1 1/8" wide narrow belt it should go in with clearance on your belt guard. I have a 150/80 Avon Venom, fitted width of which is 153mm if that is any help. Your 130mm is probably around 133mm wide, so you need at least 10mm or 3/8" clearance from your current tyre to the guard. You probably have around 1/2" going by my experience.

I believe the "correct" tire for your '05 Bagger is an MU85B 16. It is wider than a 140, I've measured them, and are a lower profile tire. You might be able to squeeze a 150 m.m. in there, it's not much wider than the MU, but be sure the load rating is right. Some 150's are load rated at less than the 130, 140 and the MU 85. Personally I run MU 85's, they measure around 145-146 m.m. wide and are rated for the bike I ride.

Tyres vary in width from the size on their sidewall. I had an Avon Venom 140/MU that was only 139mm wide and now have a 150/80 (also MU) that is actually 153mm. Other brands will also differ. Some tyre brand websites have fitted widths, but even they cannot be relied upon!

Although my bike is a 1990 I have an 07 swingarm and 05 wheel with later narrow belt. The Venom 150 fits with room to spare (although my original fender is darned close!).
