Air ride installed...

Got the shocks put on today. I ended up pressing out the upper bushing sleeves, and installing shorter ones. Then I cut the rubber bushings down narrower as well, to match the sleeve length. I made them the same width as the stock shocks. On the bottoms, I just installed metal sleeves cut down to match the stockers. Problem came when bolting the shocks up....... Seems my detach stuff was slightly in the way since the Gabriels are fatter at the top than the stockers, dammit. I ended up cutting a notch out of the upper shock mounts so that my detach stuff would clear.
Aired the shocks up close to factory height and went for a short test ride between rain showers. I'm gonna reserve judgement til I'm able to go on a better ride tomorrow. But first thoughts are that it didn't feel much different than the stock shocks. Not better and not worse. Tomorrow will tell the tale. Bike did look pretty good slammed though.......

Just noticed, on a 2010 SG, a fully extended Gabriel hits the factory muffler on the right side; the left side does not... Everyone, please check.
For those running Monroes, do you have the same issue?
For those with Gabriels, what have you done to rectify this?
Thanks all; need to put this project to rest...
**UPDATE**
I just fitted the Monroe MA785 and it DOES the same. Any length over 13" will definitely hit. I changed to the Monroe because it comes down a little lowern than the Gabriels; something I needed since my wife still can't solidly plant both feet.
As for the shock bolts hitting the mufflers, it's nothing that some (un)-precise hammering didn't take care off... :P

I managed another short ride today. One thing I can definitely say about the air shocks, is that my bike is less stable in the fast curves now. I also feel like the ride is NOT better than the stockers. I definitely think I felt the bumps more, and I also feel like there was more vibrations transfered through the bike to my ***. Haven't played with pressures yet, so I'm not gonna pull them off just yet. But I'm also not convinced I want to keep them on either........
